The Panama Fruit Feeder Cam is located on the grounds of the Canopy Lodge in El Valle de Antón, Panama. From aracaris and chachalacas to tanagers and oropendolas, you'll have the chance of seeing over 20 species visiting the feeding platform and the surrounding vegetation during the coming months. Check out the highlight below for an introduction to 15 of the most frequent visitors to the cam.
This site is just over 2,000 ft above sea level in the low mountains around Cerro Gaital, with a mild springtime climate year-round. A small stream called the Rio Guayabo runs past the feeders in the background, and the lush landscaping of the Canopy Lodge grounds grade into the forested slopes around them. The feeding platform is about 40 feet from the main lodge and is one of several feeders provisioned at roughly 2-hour intervals throughout the day. We're excited and thankful for Canopy Family's partnership in bringing these colorful birds to the world, and we're looking forward to what the season brings!
